Virginia Equine Imaging Team Supports Veterinarian at the Olympics
For the second time, Dr. Susan Johns, with Virginia Equine Imaging (VEI) in Middleburg, Virginia, served as Head Veterinarian for the U.S. Eventing team at the Olympics.
“Last month, she spearheaded the veterinary evaluations of the team candidate horses at our clinic in Middleburg, VA,” said the team. “We’re excited that Dr. Johns carried our torch on to Tokyo!”
VEI has a rich history of involvement in the Olympic games. Dr. A. Kent Allen, owner of VEI, was the past team Veterinarian for Eventing and has been the Foreign Veterinary Delegate for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In addition, Dr. Cricket Russillo, Senior Associate at VEI, was the U.S. Dressage Team Veterinarian in 2017. She also regularly helps prepare some of the best dressage horses in the world for upper-level competition.
While Dr. Johns was in Toyko, the VEI team covered her clients back home in Virginia and helped with the paperwork required to move horses and equipment to the Games.
