Sumner Veterinary Hospital Helps Reunite Missing German Shepherd with Her Owner

At NVA, our core value of service excellence means more than the world-class care we give to animals. It can also mean bringing families together and supporting our communities.

When Tasha’s owner Kimberly couldn’t find her beloved German Shepherd, she immediately went to check the footage on their home security system. That’s when her worst nightmare came true: Tasha had managed to escape and was missing.

Kimberly drove around her neighborhood for days and hung up flyers hoping that someone would help Tasha return home.

Five weeks later, a local community member noticed a German Shepherd of Tasha’s description had somehow managed to get stuck between a fence and a concrete wall and called the local fire department.

Local heroes at East Pierce Fire and Rescue immediately brought the pet to Sumner Veterinary Hospital.

Their Emergency Response team scanned the pet for a microchip. To their surprise, they found that it was Tasha, who had been missing for over a month! It was at their hospital that Tasha was happily reunited with Kimberly.

Our community never ceases to amaze us! Thank you, Sumner Veterinary Hospital, for showing this family the true meaning of service excellence.
