Dr. Kernes Named 2022 Companion Animal Practitioner of the Year

Dr. Christine (Tina) Kernes, Medical Director at Buckner Animal Clinic in Dallas, Texas, is the 2022 TVMA Companion Animal Practitioner of the Year. This award recognizes her dedication to serving and providing the utmost care for her patients and their pets.

“I nominated Dr. Kernes because she cares so much about her patients, clients, team and community,” said Karen Talbott, Practice Manager at Buckner Animal Clinic. “She invests time and energy in everyone around her.”

Dr. Kernes was born in Iowa and attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, for her undergraduate degrees. She then attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL, and earned her degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Kernes and her family moved to Dallas, TX, where she has been practicing small animal medicine in East Dallas. She has special training and interests in ultrasound, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
